Team news

"There's no new injuries. We're just waiting on Maisie Symonds who has been unwell this week, so we're just waiting to see whether she's going to make it."

Arsenal

"They've got fantastic players and historically they are one of the biggest teams in women's football. They've also got a cup win under their belt this year.

"So we know it's going to be a really, really tough game. But we want to go there and play our football play with our identity, give it everything and see how we end up."

WSL Highlights: Albion 0 Arsenal 4

Stats and facts

After losing their opening home WSL game of the season 1-0 against Liverpool, Arsenal have since won each of their nine such matches in succession. In that time, the Gunners have outscored their opponents by a 25-5 scoreline.

Brighton are unbeaten across their last four away WSL games (W2 D2), the club’s longest ever such run in the competition. With victory against Arsenal, the Seagulls will have won five away matches in a WSL season for the first time.

Should they beat Brighton this weekend, Arsenal will claim a tenth home WSL win of the season; only during the 2021-22 campaign have the Gunners managed as many (also 10). It would also be the Gunners’ tenth home win in succession which would match their longest such run in the competition.

Albion have scored 26 goals in the Women’s Super League this season and will break their club record for most goals in a WSL campaign should they find the net this weekend (also 26 last season).

Ten of Arsenal’s current squad have previously scored a WSL goal against Brighton, combining for 28 strikes between them. Amongst them, Beth Mead (7), Stina Blackstenius (6) and Vivianne Miedema (6) have all scored more than five goals against the Seagulls in the competition.

Albion have recorded just two clean sheets in the WSL this season, with only Bristol City (0) recording fewer. Both of the Seagulls’ clean sheets have come away from home, however.

Ahead of Wednesday’s WSL match, since the start of 2024, only Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw (12) has scored more goals in the WSL than Arsenal’s Alessio Russo (6). During that time, no other player in the competition has attempted as many shots as Russo (46).

Elisabeth Terland has scored 13 goals in the WSL this season. In fact, Terland has scored more goals for the Seagulls than the rest of her teammates combined in the competition this term (12 - 1 own goal).
